Charitable Foundation
Our Mission
The mission of the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation is to contribute, in a meaningful way, to the health and vitality of the various Greater Boston communities served by Eastern Bank. This is done through financial support to selected non-profit organizations operating within those communities.
In 2009, the Foundation will donate over $2.0 million to more than 1,000 eligible organizations across eastern Massachusetts.
Our Focus
Grants totaling $2,411,111 were made during 2008 to charitable organizations throughout Eastern Massachusetts. Our grants generally range in size from $50 to $50,000. While the types of organizations receiving support from the Foundation vary greatly, our grants for 2008 were concentrated in the following areas.

Guidelines, Policies and How to Apply
The primary focus of the Eastern Bank Charitable Foundation is to support organizations providing basic human services. Our preferred areas of giving include; Affordable Housing, Homeless Prevention, Job Readiness, Family and Children, Human Services, Community Healthcare.
